About

blogabout

By day, I am a real estate executive, with a dynamic full-service real estate consultancy and brokerage. I am also a native New Yorker, a tennis player, a fitness enthusiast, a food connoisseur, and the daughter of a single dad—and eventually another single (step) dad.

The lessons I learned from my single dads—Sanford Glanzrock, who was a legend in the menswear industry; and Alexander Farkas, of Alexander’s Department Stores—helped me to become the woman I am today: fiercely independent, playful, competitive, and outspoken, with business savvy DNA.

In previous lives I have been a buyer for Ann Taylor, a merchandiser for Schraeder Sportswear, a producer at MTV and Fox Television, fashion trends reporter and sales executive for The Tobé Report, and manager of public relations and special events at Loving & Weintraub and Cuoma/Agisim. I’ve also worked with some of the legends in fashion journalism, including Hebe Dorsey and Eleanor Lambert.

I am passionately committed to helping kids (and their single dads) find the resources and opportunities they need to grow and be their best selves…with a little help from me.

Some of the philanthropic and professional organizations I am involved with include:  The Boys & Girls Harbor, Spoons Across America/The James Beard Foundation, AIWF, Fresh Air Fund, Children Advocacy Center, East Harlem Tutorial Program, Learning Leaders, Sheltering Arms, The Coalition for the Homeless, Roundtable of Food Professionals and the Women’s Campaign Fund, Association of Real Estate Woman, and Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association and AISH-NYC, and The CJM, the Children’s Jewish Museum.

On SINGLE DADS BLOG you’ll find stories about my Dads, my childhood and upbringing as the daughter of single dads—and the latest and most relevant information, trends, events, and news, reviewed and curated with single dads in mind and as ongoing contributors.

You’ll find interviews with experts in their fields – even political figures; the best values and most interesting options for nutrition and fitness; exposes on deceptive advertising and other commercial claims, and an honest vetting of government and nonprofit programs.

And you’ll get to know my signature no-holds-barred truth telling and straight-up humor.

My dad used to say: “Think before you speak.” I rarely do – and mostly, when I do is said on purpose. I like to go with my gutt.

“Please, Speak up!” I can’t wait to hear, What’s on your Mind?”
